Yes, there are some restaurants and supermarkets around FIH so please don’t worry about your daily meal.
Yes, the Student Committee of FIH is composed of resident assistants of each floor. They are responsible to organize activities and assist the office with event group, cultural group and publicity group. There are 2~3 resident assistants living in each floor.
The office staffs will be stationed during the daytime and the security guides will be stationed during the night to ensure the safety of residents.
Yes. You can get a tour anytime by making appointment.
The room is equipped with fridge, microwave oven, electric pot, unit kitchen, bed, interphone, air-conditioner, balcony, storage boxes , and etc…
We will organize events such as Christmas party, Farewell party, Thanksgiving, languages courses, Mt. Takao Hiking, Hot spring trip and etc…
The office staffs will introduce some clinics to you and she/he will go with you if you couldn’t go by yourself.
It takes about 5 minutes walk from FIH to the bus station and it takes about 7 to 8 minutes to university.
There is no curfew. However, we suggest students come back early to prepare for the class.
If you are going to be away from FIH, please fill in the “外泊届け” form (notice of travel/absence from FIH) and put it in the box.
Yes,you can invite your family and friends here. But they need to fill in the visitors list at the entrance (2nd floor). However, only your parents can be stayed overnight here. Your friends must leave here before 10 pm.
You are not allowed to drink and smoke. You will be expelled for smoking in FIH.
Students are not allowed to park their cars either at FIH or university. However, bicycle is allowed to park in the bicycle park of FIH.
There is a electric socket for internet and TV in your room, please be sure to prepare LAN cables.
The common areas of the dormitory are professionally cleaned each week. Residents are requested to help keep the dormitory clean by maintaining your rooms and the common spaces in an orderly manner. Vacuum machines are provided in each lounge.
Yes, laundry rooms equipped with washers and dryers are available in 3rd, 4th and 5th floor.
FIH does not offer meals to residents. You can cook in the unit kitchen in your room. The lounges in 3rd, 4th and 5th floor are available for cooking as well.
About 10 medium size of corrugated paper boxes. Please consider the space of your room.

You are required to pay the rent before you move in. Installment payments are also available, please contact with the FIH staffs.
The occupancy period can be the whole year. It is not necessary to move out during February, March and August. However, the maximum of living in FIH is 2 years.
The form is online. From the International Dorm homepage, follow the dormitory application link and fill out the form.
FIH is a student dormitory completed in September, 2010. The main purpose is to receive foreign students. At J. F. Oberlin University and Affiliated Schools, one of our principal goals is to develop students with international character. Enabling students to study, live and work together with people of different races and points of view helps to build that international character.
